    Maintenance

    The Veterinary monitor offers a "Service" button, which provides access to several maintenance functions. These include:

    ECG Calibration: In the ECG calibration window, users can turn on or off the ECG calibration signal. This is important for accurate electrocardiogram readings. By calibrating the ECG regularly, the veterinary monitor can provide more precise data on the animal's heart activity.

    Temp Sensor Type: The Temp Sensor Type window allows users to initialize the type of body temperature sensor, either 10K or 2.25K. This ensures that the temperature readings are accurate for different types of sensors used in the veterinary monitor.

    NIBP Pneumatic Test: Selecting the NIBP Pneumatic test enables users to check whether the entire air way of blood pressure measurement leaks air. When the blood pressure cuff is connected, an air leakage test can be started. If the test is passed, there will be no prompt. However, if there is a leak, corresponding failure prompts will be displayed in the noninvasive blood pressure information section.

    NIBP Calibration: After choosing noninvasive blood pressure calibration, users enter a calibration mode. A pressure gauge (or mercury sphygmomanometer) with a calibration precision higher than 1 mmHg after calibrated can be used for calibration. It is important to note that if the "measure blood pressure" key is pressed during calibration, the system will stop calibrating.

    NIBP Reset: When the blood pressure measurement is abnormal and the monitor cannot prompt reasons for the problem, the NIBP reset option can be used. This restores the blood pressure module to its initial settings and may allow the module to self-recover if the abnormality is caused by accidental reasons.

    Demo Mode: By entering the correct password, the monitor enters demo mode, with a big "DEMO" label shown in the centre of the screen. While this mode is useful for demonstrating the machine's performance during training, it should be avoided in actual clinical use as it may lead to medical staff mistaking demo waveforms for actual ones, affecting animal monitoring.

    Version Information: Choosing the "version information" option allows users to view the version information of the software installed in the monitor.

    User Settings and Factory Service: The user settings menu requires a password for user maintenance and is typically only accessible to factory-appointed servicemen. Similarly, the factory service option is not available for general users and is reserved for factory-appointed servicemen.

    Troubleshooting

    In case of issues with the MCS0027 Veterinary monitor, the following steps can be considered:

    If there are problems with the ECG readings, first check the ECG calibration settings. Ensure that the calibration signal is set correctly and that the electrodes are properly attached to the animal.

    For temperature reading inaccuracies, verify the Temp Sensor Type setting and check if the sensor is functioning properly. It may be necessary to replace the sensor if it is damaged.

    If there are issues with noninvasive blood pressure measurements, start with the NIBP Pneumatic test to check for air leaks. If there are no leaks, consider calibrating the NIBP using the appropriate calibration method. If the problem persists, the NIBP reset option may be tried.
